PEGGY’S PLAY, 19th April - Peggy Morgan may have retired from the NLT stage, but that hasn’t stopped her directing a play in April. Entitled, Who Was Hilary Maconochie? and written by James Saunders, the action unfolds around a middle class widow, her maid and the arrival of a friend for afternoon tea. In this play, all is definitely not what it seems…

NOTHING LIKE A DAME!

May 14th -19th

Someone's Else's Rainbow

The May Major will be something of a departure for NLT. Due to no experienced director coming forward, we will be collaborating with Found Out Theatre to present a joint production. Someone Else’s Rainbow by Sam Boardman-Jacobs sees Alice Dell reflecting on her life as a Judy Garland impersonator, and how she has lived her life in the shadow of the Hollywood star. Alex Alderton, who plays Alice, was awarded the 2005 Theatre in Wales award for Best Female Performance when she first performed the role in Cardiff. As a play with songs, this is something we would not normally stage, so will hopefully be refreshing for our audiences. Please note that all ticket and front of house arrangements will be exactly as normal.

24th May Pupils from Dwr-y-Felin school (including YW’s Tom Jenkins) will present a thirty minute version of Macbeth. They originally entered this for the Shakespeare Schools Festival at the Taliesin in February, and we are thrilled to be making these links between NLT and local schools.

DICKERSON DOES DALLAS 31st May The final club night of the season before the AGM will be a play: Brenton vs. Brenton by David Tristram. Directed by Michael Dickerson, the play asks vital questions such as: “What is the dark secret which enflames the Brenton family feud?”; “Who is the mysterious Eddie?”; “Why are Lana's shoulder pads wider than the door?” All this, and more, is revealed in this outrageous spoof of American soaps and blockbuster mini-series, set in the manic world of Chicago's biggest ad agency.

AGM 7th June The Annual General Meeting will be held on 7th June. As usual, after the meeting’s business, there will be a glass of wine and nibbles. Come along and celebrate the end of another successful season.
